The reason this puzzle proves confusing is that the classic "joke" is dependent upon it being SPOKEN rather than WRITTEN. The play on words has to do entirely with how the words sound and all is lost when it is written down. So, in addition to the various punctuation options, the spelling of that particular word complicates adds one more variable.
A newspaper would be the standard answer; sorry didn't think much of this one. Not because it isn't clever, but because of the fiddly-ness in the spelling and punctuation. Should have targeted the riddle's answer.

[14] In the classic riddle, the "problem" is the misinterpretation of the homonym, and the puzzle uses the "correct" interpretation.
As you say, there are many alternate answers that take the original and answer it.
